This is by far the hardest topic I will ever write about. I have never admitted this to anyone, other than my husband. I know how to hide my deepest secrets from not only friends by family as well. I have been wanting to write this post for quit some time now, however, I am lost with where I should begin. So here it goes. Continue reading “I Have an Eating Disorder”
Listen up Mommy Tribe, especially new moms! I have complied a list of my favorite baby items that not only helped me, but saved me time and energy! Here is a list of 10 products that I feel were the best investments, or gift ideas for baby’s big arrival! This list is in no particular order of favoritism, mainly because I couldn’t decide which ones were the best, I love them ALL!
- Fisher price Foldable bassinet- I received from Target but also available at Wal-Mart to. This bad boy was my daughters bed for the first 12 weeks of her life. We currently still use, she loves to lay in it while I’m cooking or cleaning up the house.
I always said to myself when I have children I am going to show them the world! In todays economy they have become adapted to seeing the world through a phone screen, computer, or television. I don’t want this habit to become the norm for my kids. I want to raise Aspen showing her the wonders this world has to offer. I want to teach her through sight, touch, and smell. I want her to grow up with an enormous desire to explore and see new things with her own two eyes, not a phone screen. Don’t get me wrong she loves her morning cartoons with Mickey Mouse Club and Puppy Pals, what kids don’t? We allow this for only a few more short days until we turn off our cable. Not because we can’t afford this luxury, but because we would rather use that money to travel more, take more hikes, camp, do things with Aspen that allow her to be apart of nature. Don’t worry y’all she still has her movies to watch every once in awhile.
I love trying new things. Now with that said, I don’t always try something new mainly because fear is holding me back. What if I fail? What if I’m not good at it? What if I embarrass myself? This are all the questions that keep me from trying new things or just going for it!
I find that wishing upon a start doesn’t necessarily make all your dreams or goals come true. My personal example of this exact scenario is I have always wanted to be a yogi! I want to do those cool handstands, crazy positions, and have a relatively toned physique that most acquire due to the difficulty of yoga in general. I want to be a yoga gal!!!!
I am a very passionate person. When I find something I enjoy doing I put my heart and soul into reaching my goals. Being this passionate can also be slightly dangerous, well at least for me. I am going to tell you my story from showing in my first bikini competition to becoming a mommy.
April 2017 I showed in my first fitness bikini competition, January 2018 I became a Mom. When I first set my sights on competing I was not fully aware of the grind and dedication it took to reach that level of fitness until I was half way into my training. Now before I continue I need to say I struggled with anorexia and binge eating for years prior to competing. If I can give any advice to someone interested in showing, make sure your mind is in a healthy place before you start training for any type of fitness show.
We are always looking for the next best thing to help us live a healthier happier lifestyle. We all want to have endless amounts of energy, a relatively fit toned physique, and a natural craving for the “healthy foods”. Being 4 months post partum I can assure you I was one of those people looking for the best way to live a healthier lifestyle, so I could keep up my energy with caring for a newborn. I feel like I have a good sense with what I need to do and what I need to be eating, but after having Aspen my motivation and drive was wayyyy down.
It wasn’t until I sat down one day and really starting to think back to when my health was at its best. I wrote down these tips and tricks in hopes that they will help you as well. Whether you are postpartum, a parent, student, really any one can incorporate these tips into your daily life to kick start your new healthy lifestyle.
Before I gave birth I had a plan. An idea of how I pictured everyday life would be with a newborn. I would wake up early feed Aspen, rock her back to bed, get my workout in, get the laundry and dishes finished, Aspen would then wake up and we would have a fun filled day of giggles, cuddles, and utter perfection. Boyyyyyyyy was I wrong. As much as I love schedules, plans and organization, my life now revolved around little Miss Aspen and how she wanted the day to go.
